Wrap it up!

Alaska's Chlamydia rate has been twice the U.S. Rate since 2002. TWICE THE RATE.
Alaska Native women have rates of chlamydia almost 10 times higher than the overall U.S. population. Why is this? What are we going to do to change this? It's so embarassing to read about this all the time. It's really very simple. If you are going to choose to have casual sex: WRAP IT UP! Keep condoms in your purse just in case. If you find that embarrassing, think about how embarrassing it would be to have an STD. The Alaska Native Medical Center gives them out for FREE!
In 2009, Alaska's gonorrhea rate rose 69%, with the most of the  gonorrhea cases occurring among Alaska Natives  The highest rate was reported for Alaska Native women. People ages 15-29 comprised 82 percent of all chlamydia cases and 62% of all gonorrhea cases. It is fairly common for gonorrhea to cause no symptoms, especially in women. You can't tell by looking at someone so once again: WRAP it up!
So come on Natives, Lets smarten up, and get ourselves off of these reports for having the highest rates of STD's! It's pretty embarrassing considering there aren't that many of us! It'll only take a second to protect yourself and your dignity!
